Whenever someone looks for a perfect rifle, Anschutz is one of the first brands that would be recommended. It’s precise shots, physical appearance and comfort to carry is one of the main reasons why you should get an Anschutz rifles if you have the budget. Anschutz rifles are excellent rifles in all respects. They are a synthesis of sophisticated engineering, top quality materials, and superior workmanship. Having said this, let’s walk through our Anschutz rifles reviews and find more about it.

The J. G. Anschutz Company, who manufacture Anschutz guns, was founded in Germany in 1856. Today J. G. Anschutz GmbH occupies a modern factory in Ulm, Germany. The President of the company is Jochen Anschutz, the fifth generation of the Anschutz family to lead the company. This 156-year-old company has earned a well-deserved reputation for producing some of the most accurate and sophisticated air and rim fire competition rifles ever produced. It also produces small-game hunting guns such as its Model 54 and 64 Sporter rim fires that were introduced in the 1960s.

Over the years, Anschutz became as popular as ever. Take a look down the line of an Olympic small bore rifle shooting event or any world-class biathlon competition and chances are most of the competitors’ rifles will be Anschutz. Fact is, during the past four decades more than 85 percent of Olympic medal winners and 95 percent of biathlon winners shot Anschütz rifles.

So what is it like to shoot an Anschutz rifle? The comfortable stock, ergonomic bolt handle, smooth operating action and slick magazine are all big plusses. The wide, flat forearm and heavy barrel put the weight forward, where it should be on a varmint rifle. This is an easy rifle to shoot accurately from a rest. And, exceptional accuracy is practically a given with an Anschutz rifle. But the most important factor, the one that makes it possible to take advantage of that intrinsic accuracy, is the splendid trigger. The trigger in Anschutz rifles are absolutely first class. We all praised this rifle's clean, light trigger.

Indeed, it is the rifle of the gun enthusiast. And among the web, Anschutz rifles are creating a buzz too. Here are some Anschutz rifle reviews from the shooter themselves.

Andy 40, “Anschutz rifles are probably the best you can buy, especially when you are in a competition target shoot. If you dont mind spending the money, Anschutz is the best choice.”

Mark 45, “I was very satisfied with the handling and performance of the Anschütz. For a walking varminter its weight of 8.5 pounds with a scope isn’t a burden, but that weight is a blessing when it comes time to shoot.”

Neil 39, “French walnut stock, hand-checkered, with cherry wood for-end and pistol grip cap. I was to happy when I first bought my Anschutz .22 rifle. REAL pretty to look at and sweet to shoot.”

The majority of rifles on the market today are priced below $500 and because of the Anschutz price ranges from $1000 - $2000, it isn’t going to be for everyone. But for those who demand superb accuracy and appreciate precision German engineering and manufacturing, this rifle certainly delivers. Those willing to tote the note for this rifle will surely

Anschutz Rifles Reviews - Anschutz Model 1416

The Anschutz Model 1416 is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .22 LR. The best competitive shooters in national, international and Olympic shooting events commonly use Anschutz rifles. There are two sub-models of the 1416: the D KL and D HB. The only difference between the two, the D HB has a heavy barrel.

The 1416 uses a Match 64 action, where the bolt lever rotates on a cylinder and allows the shooter re-chamber with little movement. It also uses a cam cocking firing pin system that locks in place and won't strike a round until the bolt lever is completely closed. It has a claw extractor and an additional cartridge holder and ejector, which helps ejects cases consistently. Its two-stage match trigger, which gives extra tension in the pull, corresponds with Anschutz’s competitive-grade trigger design. Its wooden stock makes it lightweight and very German in appearance.
